The house was built in the 1970's , and was designed as two separate cubes placed side by side. the design creates a space that gives an effect that both cubes work as one. Opening a “window” between the kitchen and work room enabled an expanded view while also serving a dual function. The residents – a librarian and artist- asked for a pastoral yet modern atmosphere for their home. so the emphasis on warm materials and elements such as a fireplace, natural oak wood in all rooms, and the choice of grays as color palate for a country yet modern feel.
